Posted J (edited) As of recently I've noticed that my speeds seem to start fast and then slow to almost nothing (kB/s) after a few minutes. It stays this way until I quit and restart bittorrent and then it repeats this cycle. I haven't had this issue before today, I have the most updated version on Mac. Download starts fast but then slow to a crawl. Whenever I download something, the download will start off well, at a few mb/s and even up to 40+Mb/s, but after about a minute it slows down to less then 1mb/s, and I have to restart Steam hopping servers from other countries.
The torrent has 53 seeds and leeches. I should probably mention that, when I restart utorrent, the download starts off with ~kb/s, and then quickly plummets to ~5kb/s. Also, in the picture, notice that my download of Eminem is at %, that download also slowed down (I stopped it because I wanted the other to finish first) that one has. That problem doesn't always happen, it is a combination of the speed of the torrent (faster torrents = more load on the NAT table), the speed of the ISP Connection (faster connection ditto), and most importantly the available processing power and memory of the modem/router. Slow torrent downloads are commonly caused by a few factors. Some are under your control (router issues, port forwarding, and misconfigured settings in your torrent client (uTorrent, QBittorrent etc). Other causes, like blocking or throttling by your ISP aren’t easily fixed by tweaking settings.
